The HIX Award

The HIX Award is an annual competition for current students and recent graduates of 2 years, won in 2014 by artist Felix Treadwell and judged by Tracey Emin. Alaric played a fundamental role in organising the exhibition and was involved in the original shortlisting of 20 works, marketing & PR and overall concept during the award’s second active year. The event continues to be held annually in Mark Hix’s gallery, located in the basement and former boiler room of Shoreditch’s Tramshed Restaurant. As a whole, the gallery provides emerging artists with a platform in which to exhibit their work, coupled with a programme of art dinners and private launches. The accompanying images show the judges’ lunch at which a number of renowned artists and critics were present, prior to the private view and prize giving ceremony.
